Dr Shivarajakumar latest to go on floor ‘Srikanta’ is having three shades in the character and its description is very interesting from director Manju Swaraj. The film went on the floors on Friday morning at Kanteerava studios. Smt Parvathamma Rajakumar switched on camera, Power star Puneeth Rajakumar directed the maiden shot for the film when Dr Shiv faced the camera, Smt Geetha Shivarajakumar and Madhu Bangarappa sounded clap board.

After muhurut the team of producer Mahadev, his son Manu Gowda, Dr Shiv, Manju Swaraj, cameraman Suresh Babu reached Hotel Bengaluru International in the evening to address the media.

My favorite actor is Dr Shiv. The film ‘Srikanta’ has contemporary subject and a common man impact is derived from Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar short story. Like Nanjundeshwara, the character of Dr Shiv will be working out strategy to put down minus things he encounters in his journey. I have some love to showcase Dr Shiv in different variety. That is also happening in this film. What extent a common man can tolerate injustice is this ‘Srikanta’. Besides ego satisfaction, undercurrent has something different to portray says Manju Swaraj.

It is a promise of my father to make a film with main technical team of ‘Shishira’. We got name from that film but not made money stated Manu Gowda, son of Producer Mahadev. From this film he is becoming independent producer. The last film of Mahadev was ‘Chingari’. In a car travel with Manju Swaraj we decided on this film. For both the name of Dr Shiv came to mind for central role in the film says Manu Gowda.

Nine years ago I was behind camera for ‘Nanjundi’ of Dr Shiv. That gave me life for nine years and I expect life for 18 years from this film mentioned cameraman Suresh Babu.

Dr Shiv recalling the inquiries he made stated that director Manju Swaraj is intelligent. When the questions put forth were zigzag he was perfect in replies. Actors also make mistakes. It is director who corrects us felt Dr Shiv. The film ‘Srikanta’ is man and society. To be precise a common man and society! On his journey meeting strangers how he reacts and revolts is best part. In the climax why did the protagonist behaved like that – audience would get answer. The incidents are well woven with the story. Why he emotes in certain situations is a question crops up in the mind. There is plus and minus shade for the character. It is at last height of emotions with peak point Agumbe location informed Dr Shiv.

Vijay Raghavendra is playing an important role after ‘Rishi’ with Dr Shiv. The Kannada speaking heroine is the need and heroine is the one who hooks up the hero informed Dr Shiv.

On the proposal of Arundhati Nag and Ananthnag in this film – the final decision is not yet taken says Manju Swaraj.
